What are the risks of biometric identification?
With the growing number of biometric solutions being implemented across the globe, such as Apple Touch ID and Samsung Iris Scan, the media has pointed out heightened awareness – and concern from consumers.
Dan Tynan of Parallax reached out to BioConnect for a comment on the security of biometrics as as tool to replace passwords. Is this technology something that we, as consumers, should be afraid of? Tynan went on to demystify a lot of the concerns related to biometrics from how they’re collected and stored, if solutions can be tricked (with fake fingerprints etc.), and if how they’re used considers people’s privacy enough.
